Pirates are back in league action

The Hull Pirates return to EIHA Premiership action this weekend after a break for the Bradfield Brewery Cup first leg with Sheffield Steeldogs.
Going into this weekend’s double-header, the Pirates find themselves seventh place in the table after a run of form that can only be described as being as cold as the ice they skate on. It’s their lowest position this season after a good start.
First up this weekend is a Saturday trip to Guildford who sit fifth, two points clear of the Pirates.  On Sunday, it’s back to Hull Ice Arena where the red carpet will be rolled out for second placed MK Lightning.
For now until the end of the season, the goal for the Pirates is to find some form to take into the end of season play-offs. After a promising start to the season, it would be a shame for all concerned at the club for their hard work to go unrewarded.
The good news for the Pirates is that the gap between them and eighth placed Sheffield is 14 points so there is little chance of being leapfrogged by the Steeldogs any time soon. Two victories this weekend will help the Pirates climb the table.
