Preview: Hull City vs West Ham United.

Now we’re at the business end of the season, every game is absolutely critical; especially against the teams around you. Saturday sees the visit of West Ham United to the KCOM Stadium. West Ham have had a very topsy-turvy season – like city, the Hammers have had horrendous injuries, with Andy Carroll, Michael Antonio and Mark Noble all facing spells on the sidelines over the course of the season. Not only this, but the ‘house’ move has not been as smooth of a transition as they would have liked. I can understand why – leaving behind all the memories of the old Boleyn Ground and moving to the much larger Olympic Stadium was always going to be difficult for the fans and players alike to handle.

In the first meeting this season, it was Saturday’s visitors who triumphed 1-0 thanks to a Mark Noble penalty. It was a game which City undoubtedly should’ve won, however missed chances cost them dear. This should give a lot of confidence to the players since they know that they have matched their opposition already this season and, now under the influence of Marco Silva, let’s hope that City can take their chances and get the win.

Although this is a huge game for city, the main story which will roam around the stadium will be the return of Robert Snodgrass. Will he be seen as the villain? Will he get a rapturous round of applause? For me, I think the fans should be thanking Snodgrass for what he has done for the club this season. It’s likely that the club would be a lot worse off if it wasn’t for his input of goals and assists, so to greet him with jeers is completely unfair in my opinion. That said, who’s for Snodgrass first goalscorer…
