Match Report Ferriby 4-1 Leamington

Ferriby went into this match against mid table Leamington knowing that they needed to win to stay in the hunt for top spot with teams around them having games in hand. A decent point had been secured 3 days earlier against Solihull but this was a match Ferriby would have been looking to gain all three points from.

The game was very entertaining to watch with lots of goalmouth action and in the 44th minute Leamington gave themselves a sniff of a comeback when they opened their account in the 44th minute. A slick move led to Stefan Moore chipping Adam Nicklin to score. 3-1

3-1 HT

Ferriby sealed all three points in the 54th minute. Jamie Yates was surging towards the box when he was cynically fouled. Nathan Jarman stepped up to take the free kick and smashed the ball home from 25 yards, almost taking the net off in the process. 4-1

The rest of the game was end to end and was entertaining throughout but in truth Leamington never really looked like getting back into the game.  The closest they came was a header that flew just wide. Nathan Jarman was denied a hat trick when he shot just wide and Anthony Wilson missed a chance he should have scored when he shot straight at the Leamington goalkeeper.

FT 4-1

This was a polished performance from Ferriby and it turned out to be a perfect evening because Ferriby went to the top of the Skrill North thanks to Brackley, Altrincham and Hednesford dropping points. Things couldn’t be better for Ferriby at the moment in the league and long may their good from continue.
